How to build a fragrance wardrobe

Updated 3 October 2026

A fragrance wardrobe is a small set of perfumes you choose between, the way you choose clothes. One for every day, one for the evening, one for when you want a change. You do not need many bottles.

1. Start with your everyday scent

Pick the one you would wear to work and on a weekend. Light and easy usually works best.

2. Add one for after dark

Something deeper and warmer, for dinners and late nights.

3. Think about the weather

Heat makes scent rise faster and fade sooner. Lighter scents suit hot days. Richer ones suit cold nights.

4. Let layering do more

Two bottles can make more than two scents. Spray one over the other and you get a third. That is how fiæn works: three perfumes and two modifiers, five bottles, 28 combinations. See how layering works.

5. Wear it for a day before you decide

A perfume changes over hours. Spray it in the morning and judge it in the evening, not in the first minute.

6. Look after it

Keep bottles cool and out of the sun, and they last. More on that here.
